The Washington Commanders won a grand total of four games in 2023.
They reached the NFC Championship Game this season.
Of course, that’s not good enough for proven winners like Magic Johnson.
As great a season as they had, the legendary point guard took to X to express his disappointment in the way it ended.
He stated that the Commanders hurt their chances with all the turnovers.
However, he did congratulate the Philadelphia Eagles for their successful season.
I hate losing so I’m mad that my Commanders lost but congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles for advancing to the Super Bowl. My Commanders hurt our chances of winning the game today with 3 fumbles and too many penalties.
I want to thank all the Commanders players, coaching…

It’s easy to understand where this feeling is coming from.
Johnson won five NBA championships and is used to nothing but excellence.
Also, the Commanders were just one win away from the biggest game of the season.
On the other hand, there are plenty of reasons to feel optimistic about the Commanders and the future of this organization.
Jayden Daniels looks like a superstar in the making out there on the field.
More importantly, he looks like a true leader of men as well.
The Commanders needed to overcome decades of mismanagement and a poor workplace culture.
That’s not something that’s done overnight.
All in all, they got off to a great start to that cultural turnaround.
They discovered the most crucial piece of the puzzle: the franchise quarterback and the face of the team.
Dan Quinn deserves a lot of credit, and so does his coaching staff.
But now the bar is set higher.
This team will be very good for a long time, and they won’t be a surprise anymore.
