The Washington Commanders came up short in their Week 4 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, falling 34-31.
Despite coming away with a loss in the record books, many applauded the Commanders’ efforts in this game.
This included Magic Johnson, one of the team’s new investors.
As Johnson indicated in a recent tweet, he enjoyed the fight he saw from the Commanders roster, wanting it to “be a part of our DNA all season long.”
Hopefully the effort we displayed in this game will be part of our DNA all season long.

This was a back-and-forth game, but in the waning moments of the fourth quarter, the Eagles looked to be in command.
However, Sam Howell led a miraculous two-minute drill, which was capped by a ten-yard touchdown pass to Jahan Dotson.
Howell’s play has turned many heads throughout the league, silencing many of his preseason doubters.
Many believed that Howell did not possess the skills to lead an NFL franchise and that the Commanders would be a bottom-feeder team.
While it is still early in the season, Howell has at least shown Johnson that he’s worth the investment.
The Commanders now hold a 2-2 record, but head into Week 5 with high hopes.
Their next three games are against the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, and New York Giants.
All three contests seem to be winnable for the Commanders, especially if their efforts remain strong.
Johnson has faith in this team, as they have shown resiliency in a time of organizational turmoil and turnover.
Will the Commanders continue to surprise fans around the league, putting together a season worthy of the playoffs?
