Over the past couple of months, NBA fans have debated whether Stephen Curry is the greatest point guard of all time.
Even Curry said himself that he believes that the conversation should focus on him and Magic Johnson, which obviously led to multiple hot takes and whatnot.
Most old-school fans and players, unsurprisingly, leaned toward Johnson in this debate, whereas the modern-day fans talked about Curry.
Notably, Johnson — who’s quite active on social media and has given multiple interviews — had been silent about this matter, but not anymore.
In an interview with Zach Gelb, the five-time NBA champion didn’t waste his opportunity to flex his résumé and accolades, simply stating that last time he checked, he was still above Curry in pretty much every number and award.
"If he got more than 5 [NBA] championships, if he got more than 3 Finals MVP and 3 league MVPs, then he's the greatest is he? … But the last time I checked, he doesn't."

As ruthless as that might seem, he’s right on point.
Magic has always been extremely respectful about his colleagues and rivals, constantly uplifting them, and he’s had plenty of praise for Curry in the past.
But when it comes to the best point guard of all time, the Showtime legend was going to show his claws and defend his title eventually.
Johnson is perhaps the most unique point guard we’ve ever seen.
While not traditional in size, it’s hard to argue that there has been a better passer and savvier playmaker than him.
Curry is definitely not the kind of pass-first kind of point guard, and that’s always going to be a factor in this discussion.
Just like in the GOAT debate, we might never be satisfied with an answer.
