The New England Patriots had a tough time when Tom Brady left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But it seemed like their struggles wouldn’t go on for much longer when they got Mac Jones out of Alabama.
Jones was very impressive in his first season, looking poised, ready, and in control right out of the gate.
Then, his regression last season made plenty of people question whether he was the right guy to carry Brady’s torch.
Now, it seems like the legendary quarterback has already given him the nod, as Jones recently said on “Jones & Mego” that Brady has actually been a big mentor for him.
Mac Jones reveals that Tom Brady is his mentor and says, “He’s definitely a legend, and I have all the respect for him. He’s a great guy; he’s actually helped me a lot already, just talking to him or whatever, and he’s been a great mentor and stuff.” pic.twitter.com/2lAQ0hdLtY

The Patriots have been used to being on top of the league for the better part of two decades, and they’re not used to struggling.
They only missed the playoffs twice in Brady’s twenty years with the team, and that includes a season in which he only made one appearance because of a knee injury.
Needless to say, that means Jones has some big shoes to fill as he gets ready for a make-or-break campaign.
And with all the pressure and chatter about him and his job security, it’s hard to think of a better guy to help him shut down all that outside noise than the ultimate competitor and arguably the greatest quarterback of all time.
If Brady has faith in Jones, then there’s no reason why the Patriots shouldn’t also be patient with him as he looks to get his career back on track.
