The Dallas Mavericks took down the Brooklyn Nets in an overtime win Thursday night, just the latest big win for the team.
Luka Doncic and his squad now have a 2-2 record, which is respectable and a good start to the season.
Beyond the numbers, Doncic is putting many others in the league to shame.

After a summer of hard work for his Slovenian national basketball team, Doncic is off to a wild start for 2022-23.
He now leads the NBA in scoring with an average of 36.3 points per game.
On top of that, he is also averaging 9.5 rebounds and 9.3 assists a game.
That means that Doncic is almost scoring a triple-double every single night.
Many people predicted he could be MVP of the league this year and if he continues to perform like this then that trophy could be his.
The Luka Special
Doncic is definitely making a case for MVP right away.
This isn’t like previous seasons when Doncic had to shed his summer weight and get back into shape as the year went on.
Instead, Doncic has fired into the new year like he was shot out of a rocket.
Can he keep it up?
As great as he looks now, Doncic has a track record of injuring himself repeatedly and there is fear that could happen again.
Even with Doncic’s output, his team is still exactly at .500, meaning they aren’t dominating as some fans expected.
The competition in the league has already shown how tough this season will be and it will only get tougher in the months ahead.
That means that the Mavericks might not be able to fight all the way to the Finals, but Doncic could still earn his first MVP trophy.
