Doncic’s teammate, Dorian Finney-Smith, thinks that the Slovenian star can achieve quite a lot.
Speaking to the press, Finney-Smith called Doncic “the grill master” because he is in charge of the team and runs everything.
That’s a good way to sum up Doncic and his responsibilities.
So, how well will Doncic grill this year?
Luka Leading The Way
The Mavericks have a talented roster with some great players but no one can deny that the team will succeed or fail based on Doncic’s performance.
That has been the case for some time now and it’s mostly worked out well for Dallas.
Now numerous analysts and experts say that Doncic could be on the verge of an MVP season.
If that is the case and he’s the best player in the league then the Mavericks could again make it deep into the playoffs.
Doncic is certainly the team’s leader but some people worry he doesn’t have enough backup on the court, especially now that Jalen Brunson has departed for the New York Knicks.
But the power of a leader is shown by how well they are able to work with what they have.
Even if he doesn’t have the best supporting players in the league, Doncic could still lead his team to serious greatness.
