The Chicago White Sox are one of the worst teams in the American League with a 50-78 record.
It has been a highly disappointing year in Chicago, and the organization recently fired the two people with the most power in baseball operations: Ken Williams and Rick Hahn.
Still, that doesn’t mean everything is bad on the South Side.
In fact, they are enjoying a breakout campaign from Luis Robert Jr.
The talented outfielder hit another home run on Thursday night, his 34th of the season, and keeps cementing his place as one of the top up-and-coming stars in the American League.

The league’s official Twitter account posted a video of the blast, one that traveled an incredible 444 feet.
Robert’s 34 dingers are good enough for fourth in the majors, tied with Mookie Betts and Kyle Schwarber.
He is also sixth in slugging percentage and is slashing a cool .265/.320/.554.
His on-base skills could use some improvement, but that’s who Robert is at this point: a free swinger who might not draw too many walks, but when he connects, he does it loudly.
In Robert, Chicago has an exciting young star to build around: he is 26 and theoretically has his entire prime ahead of him.
The problem, for Chicago, is that there doesn’t appear to be too much talent around him these days, with a couple of exceptions of course.
With a rather mediocre farm system, too, there might be some tough years ahead for the Sox.
