Wednesday was a great day to be a Baltimore Orioles fan.
The big league team defeated the New York Yankees, 6-3, and top prospects had some fantastic performances across the organization.
The Verge, a podcast that specializes in covering all things Orioles and their minor league system, posted how the O’s first-round picks in recent drafts fared on Wednesday.
It was an impressive talent showing.
“Baltimore Orioles 1st round draft picks: Adley Rutschman (2019, MLB)- 2/5, 2B; Heston Kjerstad (2020, AAA)- 4/4, HR, 2 RBI, BB; Colton Cowser (2021, MLB)- 1/3, RBI, BB, MLB Debut; Jackson Holliday (2022, A+)- 5/5, 2B, RBI, BB,” they tweeted.

Rutschman, called up last May, helped transform the franchise and its culture upon making his MLB debut.
He went 2-for-5 with an extra-base hit on Wednesday.
Kjerstad, the No. 2 pick of the 2019 Draft, had a night to remember after going 4-for-4 with a homer.
If we talk about memorable days, it was surely one for Cowser, who made his MLB debut against the Yankees and helped in their victory.
The best of the bunch might as well be Holliday.
The son of Matt Holliday, a former big leaguer, Jackson has incredible bat-to-ball and on-base skills.
His power will come with time, but he can impact the game in several ways and is a future star as a hitter.
He is currently in High-A but could be a fast-riser, eventually finding the majors at some point next season or early in 2025.
The system could use a few more impact pitchers beyond Grayson Rodriguez and DL Hall, but Baltimore has a bright future.
