The New York Giants did not sign Saquon Barkley to a contract extension ahead of the 2023 season.
Now, Barkley has two choices.
He can either sign his franchise tag, which only ties him to the Giants for this year, or, he can choose to hold out.
This situation has caused quite an uproar among the NFL community, as many current and former players have weighed in.
One of those players was LeSean McCoy, who recently took to “Speak” on FS1 to convey his take on the situation.
He highlighted Barkley’s value to the team, indicating that he’s far more valuable than their quarterback, Daniel Jones.

The other members of the show tried to compare Jones to a house or a condo, as they value him as an appreciating asset.
However, McCoy was quick to shut this down, saying: “Jones isn’t even a condo, he’s like a garage.”
McCoy doesn’t appear to buy into the narrative that Jones had an improved year, which led to him getting a contract extension over Barkley.
Instead, McCoy gave all of the praise to Brian Daboll, who he believed had more to do with the Giants’ success than Jones’ talent alone.
He also called out the Giants’ backup quarterback, Tyrod Taylor.
At least to McCoy, he believes that Taylor could play as well as Jones, if not better, should he be given an opportunity.
The same cannot be said about the backup running backs behind Barkley, given his consistent dominance at the running back position.
