The Memphis Grizzlies are playing like shells of themselves in the absence of Ja Morant.
Morant began the season serving a 25-game suspension following his gun-related actions during the 2022-23 NBA season.
It’s no surprise that the Grizzlies are one of the worst teams in the Western Conference without Morant, but the wait for the former second-overall pick is almost over.
According to several reports, Morant is expected to make his season debut for the Grizzlies against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight.
Upon finding that out, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James shared a supportive message for Morant via his official Twitter handle.
“Go be GREAT again!” James wrote.
1️⃣2️⃣ welcome back!! Go be GREAT again!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

James had a short but important message for the Grizzlies superstar on Twitter.
Even the 38-year-old superstar wants to see Morant flourish this season.
Last season, Morant averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game for the Grizzlies, which helped the organization finish as the second seed in the Western Conference with a 51-31 record.
On the contrary, the Grizzlies are currently the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a terrible 6-19 record in the 2023-24 NBA season.
Although Morant is expected to return against the Pelicans tonight, fans shouldn’t have incredibly high hopes for the superstar guard.
After all, it’s only obvious that Morant will be a little rusty after not playing professional basketball for several months.
If Morant takes even a few games to reach his previous form, it can help the Grizzlies in at least clinching a Play-In Tournament spot when it’s all said and done.
