Like all NBA greats, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has a lot of haters who can’t stand anything he does.
However, there is no doubt that James is still the most popular basketball player alive.
Newly released statistics prove that’s definitely the case.

A new list of the top-selling NBA players jerseys in the United States shows that James is far and away the most popular player in the country.
In fact, he is the most popular jersey in 30 of 50 states in America.
He vastly outpaces the number two jersey, Michael Jordan‘s, who claims the title in three states.
Still The King
It’s not a huge surprise that James is the most popular player – and jersey – in the United States.
He’s still a hugely successful and influential figure in professional sports and pop culture.
But it is a bit surprising to see that James is so relevant at this point in his career.
The 37-year-old James is now in his 19th season and yet he remains such a dominant person in the league.
There are plenty of other younger and flashier players who are having more success with their teams but James is still sitting on top.
From coast to coast, he is known and beloved even as younger players garner more wins and take over the league.
There are a few other current players who are having an impact with their jerseys such as Damian Lillard in Oregon, Nikola Jokic in Colorado, Donovan Mitchell in Utah, Giannis Antetokounmpo in Wisconsin, Jayson Tatum in Massachusetts, and Trae Young in Georgia.
Will any of those guys be able to dethrone James in the next few years?
