As they prepare for the new year, the Lakers recently reminisced about their last NBA title, which came in 2020.
This was their first title with LeBron James on their roster, hoping to start a new dynasty with him as their leader.

Ahead of the 2023 season, the Lakers are viewed as one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
Having James on their roster is one of the main reasons the Lakers are consistently seen as contenders.
They also have Anthony Davis in tandem with James, one of the best duos across the entire league.
With any luck, James will be able to help lead them to their 18th championship as a franchise, his second ring with the Lakers.
Of course, a few teams in the West are trying to stand in their way.
The Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, and Golden State Warriors are their three largest competitors.
The Nuggets beat the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals last year, knocking them out of the playoffs with a sweep.
Several Lakers players have expressed disdain for the Nuggets and are looking for revenge this season.
Fans will see what both teams are made of on the NBA’s opening night, as these two teams are slated to face off.
