The NBA has been host to some interesting storylines over the past several months.
The playoffs are underway, which have already been notable and exciting, but there’s been a lot of drama leading up to this point.
Each team could write a unique story about how this year has played out thus far, but nothing shook up the league like Luka Doncic’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Doncic, of course, is one of the best players in the league, and fans were dumbfounded to see the trade package that the Dallas Mavericks received for him.
The Lakers benefited greatly from having Doncic on their roster, even though they didn’t make it as far in the playoffs as some might have hoped.
As for the Mavericks, they could have used Doncic’s help down the stretch, and having their newest addition, Anthony Davis, out with injury for several weeks, things weren’t exactly smooth sailing.
Thankfully for the Mavericks, they have a new player on the horizon, winning the No. 1 pick in the draft lottery.
This, of course, puts them in a prime position to draft Cooper Flagg, one of the most exciting prospects in recent history.
Many players around the league have reacted to this news, including LeBron James, who posted a laughing emoji on X.

James recognizes the irony of this situation, that the Mavericks lost out on one superstar, only to add a phenom of a prospect a few months later.
The Mavericks are slated to get better in a hurry, and fans are already anxious to see how he’ll perform in Year 1.
