The Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers squared off against each other on Monday night with the Nuggets pulling off a close 116-111 win.
The game was closely watched because it was a chance to see two of the best teams in the league play against each other.
It was also supposed to be a chance to see the two biggest MVP candidates square off.
According to Caesars Sportsbook, both Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets and Joel Embiid of the 76ers have current odds of -125 to win this season’s MVP.
The race for this award has been tight all season but it has never been this close.

Sadly, Embiid didn’t participate in Monday night’s game, ruled out because of right calf soreness.
He has complained of soreness in his body, especially his feet, recently.
That’s not surprising because he has been playing a lot this year in a quest to make his team better than ever and to give him the best chance of winning MVP.
He has been runner-up for the prize for two seasons now and he is adamant about changing that.
For a while, it seemed like Embiid had a strong chance of winning MVP because he was going against Jokic, who has won the award back-to-back.
It’s very rare for a player to be MVP three years in a row.
But it’s also very rare for a player to perform like Jokic.
Jokic is posting 24.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 9.9 assist a game while Embiid is averaging 33.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists a game.
These are two incredible players and it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top.
