Lance Lynn of the Chicago White Sox is one many controllable starters that is currently on the trade block as the deadline approaches.
However, his 2023 season has been adventurous, and not in a good way.
In fact, the veteran right-hander owns a 6.47 ERA, which is the highest among 59 qualified starters in Major League Baseball.
With the White Sox out of contention, the right-hander may be the next to leave after Lucas Giolito was traded.
But if Wednesday night was his final start in White Sox threads, then he certainly didn’t go out on a good note.
Over just 4.2 innings, Lynn allowed seven earned runs on seven hits while walking two batters and striking out five.
On Twitter, the MLB podcast “Talkin’ Baseball” posted Lynn’s final line.
If this was Lance Lynn's last outing with the White Sox, it was a sad goodbye

If this was Lynn’s final start as a member of the White Sox, it was not a happy goodbye.
If anything, the 36-year-old’s trade value may have taken a hit as a result.
Though his strikeout numbers are quite good, his ERA certainly isn’t.
On Wednesday, reports from Jon Morosi and Bob Nightengale indicated that the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays were talking with the White Sox about potentially acquiring him via trade.
But his outing against the Chicago Cubs last night may cause teams to think twice before trading for him.
Lynn was the team’s best pitcher in 2021, posting a 2.69 ERA.
However, his 2023 season has been a far cry from what he was able to accomplish that year.
We’ll see if teams think twice before trying to acquire him after his most recent start.
