The Baltimore Ravens entered the season as Super Bowl candidates, but their 0-2 record doesn’t show it.
Granted, there should be no shame in losing to the defending champions on the road, especially by a couple of inches.
However, their loss to the Las Vegas Raiders was mostly on them, as they were up by double digits late in the game and just couldn’t hold onto that lead.
That’s why Lamar Jackson isn’t making any excuses.
When asked about the 0-2 record, the reigning MVP claimed that the Ravens were pretty much beating themselves at this point (via Bleacher Report).

They’ve lost both games by one possession, so they have to be better in key situations, particularly late in games.
Then again, it’s not like it’s time to sound off the alarms just yet.
Their offense has looked balanced for the most part, and they will always have a stout defense under John Harbaugh.
Things won’t get much easier in the next couple of weeks, though.
They have dates with the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals up next, so they simply cannot afford to keep stacking up losses if they want to have a chance to make the playoffs.
This will be a tough test for the defending MVP and the team that had the best record in the league and reached the AFC Championship Game just last season.
Whether they’ll sink or swim remains to be seen, but they’ll have to enter playoff mode earlier than they hoped to this season.
