Austin Reaves was once again terrific for his Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, scoring 23 points and helping his crew grab a very strong 3-1 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Reaves has become a fan favorite for the faithful LA fans during his first two years with the team.
On Monday, they were showering him with chants of “MVP” as he racked up his points.
Following the game, as seen in the tweet below, Reaves talked about what it means to be so cherished by the fans:
“It’s love…I’m clearly not in the MVP race, but the way that they support me, the way that I believe that they love the way that I play. I’m gonna give it everything I got every night…they expect us to be in the playoffs winning games.”

At just 24 years old, Reaves has become one of the most popular young stars in the league and has an incredibly loyal fanbase that is cheering him on.
He got even better this year.
This season, he put up 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists a game, shooting 52.9% from the field and bringing very intense defense during every game.
The fans love him not only because he can post a lot of points and play terrific defense but because he has a charming, boyish personality that is unassuming, soft-spoken, and sweet.
However, he wasn’t soft-spoken during Game 1 of the playoffs when he was literally yelling “I’m him” as he scored 23 points and carried his team in the second half of the game.
The fans enjoyed every second and were yelling right along with Reaves.
His unquestionable skill has led many to wonder what’s next for Reaves: will he remain in Los Angeles or be traded away?
It’s very clear what the fans want.
