Playing for the Los Angeles Lakers gives players a different feeling.
They pretty much become celebrities overnight, and if they were already famous, their fame goes up even more as soon as they sign with the Purple and Gold.
Notably, newcomer Jaxson Hayes has already gotten a taste of this, as he was joined by fellow Laker Jarred Vanderbilt to throw the first pitch on Wednesday night’s Los Angeles Dodgers game vs. The Detroit Tigers (via Matthew Moreno).

That didn’t do a lot to help the home team’s winning cause, though, as they fell 4-2 to their visitors.
Even so, the Dodgers march steadily toward another postseason trip after yet another impressive season.
As for Hayes and Vanderbilt, they’re expected to have a prominent role on Darvin Ham’s team next season.
Hayes isn’t going to be a starter, at least not early in the season.
He’s more likely to give them more depth and length off the bench, and will have to battle for every single one of his minutes with Christian Wood, although he does have a different profile.
As for Vanderbilt, he’s fresh off signing a very significant contract extension, so it’s more than evident that the team is high on him and his versatile skill set.
He’s one of the few guys in today’s game who could guard one through five, and his improving shooting form helps him stay on the court as well.
But even if things don’t work out for them in Los Angeles, they already have a big taste of what being a Laker is like.
