With the exception of the Los Angeles Lakers winning a title in the NBA bubble in Orlando in 2020, Anthony Davis’ stint with the team has had some drastic ups and downs since the New Orleans Pelicans traded him.
Although incredibly talented and arguably in the conversation for being the best player in the league when healthy, Davis hasn’t been able to stay healthy consistently throughout his career, and playing more than 50 games in a season in Los Angeles seemed virtually impossible.
However, the 2023-24 NBA regular season has been different for Davis as he has already played more games for the Lakers than he has in a single season while wearing purple and gold.
Ahead of tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Davis has played 73 games for the Lakers, which is the most in his tenure by 11 games and two off his career-high total of 75.
Along with being available consistently for the Lakers, Davis has been incredible on both ends of the floor this season, which prompted Hall of Famer James Worthy to say, via Lakers Daily, that this is the best season he’s seen from the Kentucky product.
James Worthy: "This is the best season I've ever seen AD have in his career."

After playing in 136 regular-season games in the previous three seasons with the Lakers, Davis could potentially play in 77 games this season and is putting up big numbers across the board in the meantime.
Davis is currently averaging 24.7 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 55.5% from the floor and 81.6% from the free-throw line.
Needless to say, Davis is getting it done on both ends while keeping the Lakers in the playoff picture in the Western Conference.
