At this point in the season, it is clear that the Los Angeles Lakers need help in a lot of ways.
Although they have shown more promise than they did at the start of the season, they are still in bad shape as they sit as the 13th seed in the West with a 20-25 record.
Is there time to turn things around?
Will the upcoming trade deadline be the key to success in the second half of the season?

We don’t know what moves, if any, the Lakers will make in the next few weeks and the months beyond.
But head coach Darvin Ham has a general idea of what could help his team out the most.
“We need somebody who could shoot some damn threes,” Ham said.
He added, “Not just shoot them but make them.”
You don’t have to be an NBA expert to know that Ham is speaking the truth here.
LA’s shooting has been pretty atrocious all season long and their ability to sink threes has been just about non-existent at times.
They are currently shooting 33.7% from the three-point line right now, which ranks them 27th in the entire league.
They have landed just 465 of their 1,379 attempts so far this year.
There aren’t a whole lot of ways for the Lakers to fix this problem unless they make a trade and land a player who is a proven sharpshooter.
But what are they willing to give up to land someone like that?
They are desperately holding onto their future draft picks and don’t want to part with them.
However, as the trade deadline approaches and the team continues to suffer, the front office might reconsider that position.
It’s clear that Ham knows what he wants for his squad – but will he get it?
