Los Angeles Lakers fans finally got a chance to see the new-look roster in action, albeit during a preseason game.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t a favorable result for the Lakers as they suffered a 108-125 defeat against the Golden State Warriors.
However, there were still a few positives from the defeat, including a commendable performance by Max Christie.
Christie recorded 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist vs. the Warriors.
The 20-year-old shared his reaction to being the first player coming off the bench for the Lakers via Spectrum SportsNet on Twitter.
“I had utmost confidence in myself just to go out there and play my game,” Christie said.

Despite coming off the bench, Christie ended up playing the most minutes for the Lakers.
He was also tied with D’Angelo Russell for scoring the most points for the Lakers in the 108-125 defeat.
All things considered, it was certainly a good performance by the young Lakers guard, and with enough practice, he could become a reliable player coming off the bench for the team.
As of now, coach Darvin Ham is probably trying out multiple lineups to keep Lebron James healthy for the new season.
Either way, fans should still expect James to play in a few games during the preseason and, of course, be a crucial part of the team when the season starts later in October.
Can the Lakers finally win another ring with the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis? Only time will tell.
