The Dallas Mavericks haven’t had that many legendary players in their history.
But even among the best they’ve had, no one can sit at Dirk Nowitzki’s table.
He was recently honored the way he deserved to be, being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
That’s why Kyrie Irving took to Twitter to give him his flowers and acknowledge his status as a legend of the game.
Yessir!! What a Legend.

That’s a big sign of respect coming from the new superstar of the franchise.
Irving secured his stay with the Mavericks for years to come this offseason, shutting down all speculation about his future by signing a big contract extension almost right away.
He was — again — a rumored target by the Los Angeles Lakers, as LeBron James had made it loud and clear that he was looking forward to a reunion with his former teammate from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Kyrie’s first couple of months in Dallas didn’t go exactly as planned.
He put up big numbers, and the Mavs’ offense was obviously way better when he was on the floor as compared to when he wasn’t.
But their defense plummeted toward the end of the season, up to the point where they couldn’t even make the Play-in Tournament, being one of the biggest disappointments in the league.
Still, Mark Cuban and Jason Kidd had the utmost respect and faith in Kyrie, and they made sure to surround him and Luka with some much-improved players ahead of the upcoming campaign.
