The post-LeBron James Cleveland Cavaliers had a tough time finding success.
They did manage to get Kyrie Irving, but as good as he was early in his career, he failed to lead the team to the playoffs and play winning basketball.
Then, LeBron came back to town, and it all changed again.
Kyrie played a huge role in the Cavs’ legendary championship run in 2016, even hitting the title-clinching shot in Game 7 over Stephen Curry, one of the most iconic moments in NBA history.
But ever since Irving forced his way out of Cleveland, he hasn’t exactly been successful on the court.
From never-ending controversies to injuries, Irving has rarely performed in the playoffs.
However, he doesn’t want anyone to say that he was carried by James, and he recently took to Twitter to dismiss this narrative by encouraging people to pin a tweet by Basketball Forever and look at it in the future to see how things changed.
Pin this tweet and see what happens in the next few years.

Notably, the Dallas Mavericks had an excellent offseason, and they surrounded him and Luka Doncic with a solid supporting cast, so there’s no more room for excuses going forward.
Kyrie wasn’t carried; he earned that championship ring as much as LeBron did, but it’s also a fact that he has failed to find any sort of footing in the league since he left James and Cleveland.
No one can deny his impact and talent and he might even end up in the Hall of Fame with another championship, but the clock is ticking on his career.
