It’s not just NBA fans who are blown away by the talent and potential of Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.
Fellow basketball stars are also floored by all that Wembanyama brings to the game.
Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks was asked about the young rookie by Landon Buford and he was very honest about his admiration.
“Deservedly so be the number one pick…It’s been incredible to see some of his highlights,” Irving said about Wembanyama on Friday night.
“Pop has a diamond in the rough over there. I think the whole Spurs organization knows it,” he added, saying Wembanyama is surrounded by a young, strong core that will make him an even better player.

Irving mentioned that he is excited to play against Wembanyama in the season ahead.
If they get a chance to chat, the two stars can talk about the unique pressures of being the first overall draft pick.
Irving was selected as the No. 1 pick back in 2011 while Wembanyama received those honors just a few months ago.
Irving has gone on to be one of the most sensational players in the league, averaging 23.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists a game.
Most people assume that Wembanyama will also make a huge impact on the NBA.
Irving will get his first taste of Wembanyama in just a few days as the Spurs and Dallas Mavericks are set to face off against each other on Wednesday night.
That will be Wembanyama’s first NBA game and it’ll surely attract a ton of attention.
Right now Irving is enjoying Wembanyama’s red-hot highlights but in a few days he might be a part of them.
