Despite tragically passing away back in 2020, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant has remained a source of inspiration for those who were close to him while he was alive and those who worshiped him for what he did on and off the basketball court.
Bryant had the unique ability to inspire with his relentless play on the court as well as his words off of it, as he had a wealth of knowledge when it came to the game of basketball as well as about life and striving for your goals.
One NBA superstar who seemed touched by Bryant’s teaching more than most is Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving, who always goes out of his way to show love and support for his close friend.
As Irving prepares for the 2023-24 NBA season with the Mavericks, the one-time NBA champion was seen in the gym wearing shorts that paid tribute to Bryant via Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.

Over the last few years, things haven’t gone so well for Irving during his NBA career, as he’s had trouble staying on teams and avoiding becoming a distraction off the floor for his views and some off-the-wall antics.
Fortunately for the superstar, the Mavericks were willing to take a chance on him when it seemed like the rest of the league had given up, with Mark Cuban and company recently re-signing him to a three-year deal worth $120 million.
Cuban hopes Irving and fellow superstar Luka Doncic become a dynamic duo in Dallas while getting the Mavericks back to title-contending status in the Western Conference.
