The San Francisco 49ers continue to take things slowly with their prized rookie.
Wide receiver Ricky Pearsall hasn’t been able to suit up or even return to practice.
However, it will be at least another week before he gets to do so.
According to HC Kyle Shanahan, the team won’t designate Pearsall to return from the non-football injury (NFI) list this week (Via Nick Wagoner).
#49ers WR Ricky Pearsall will continue to rehab this week, according to Kyle Shanahan. They won't open his practice window on the short week since team won't have any real practices this week.

The decision comes because the team won’t have any real practices this week, as they play the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.
That means it doesn’t make much sense to open his practice window at all.
Pearsall went on the NFI list after being shot in the chest in an attempted robbery attempt.
The Niners will play the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys after their divisional clash with the Seahawks before their BYE week, so there’s a chance that we’ll get to see the rookie wideout in any of those games.
Kyle Shanahan’s team could certainly use a spark right now.
They’re 2-3 on the season and have blown big leads in two of those losses, both coming against divisional rivals.
This hasn’t been the start of the season they hoped for after their failed trip to the Super Bowl last season, and while they have the talent to turn things around, things aren’t looking good for them right now.
