The Miami Heat were one of the most talked about teams in the NBA during the offseason.
They were heavily linked with former Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard.
But with Lillard getting traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Heat will have to do what they can with their current roster.
Speaking of the current roster, the role of Kyle Lowry is a complicated situation for the organization.
Despite being out of his prime, Lowry expects to be the starting point guard for the Heat, as per Ira Winderman on Twitter.

When the Heat traded for Lowry in 2021, he was still a fine player.
Lowry averaged 17.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game for the Toronto Raptors in his last season there.
But since donning the jersey of the Heat, the veteran point guard has regressed at an alarming rate.
The 37-year-old averaged just 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game in the 2022-23 season.
Moreover, the 17-year veteran played just 55 games for the franchise.
Despite everything pointing to the Heat needing to move forward from Lowry, they don’t have a much better option to replace him.
The Heat were expected to make a push for a solid point guard in the offseason, such as Lillard, but their efforts didn’t produce fruitful results.
With training camp starting, the Heat are expected to start Lowry at the point guard position.
If he can perform well, that’s good for the team.
Otherwise, the Heat may need to find another point guard sooner rather than later.
