The Boston Celtics were one of the first teams in the league to make a big splash during the NBA offseason, as they surprisingly moved some of their best defensive players in order to land veteran scorer Kristaps Porzingis in a deal with the Washington Wizards.
Initially, this trade moved the needle quite a bit for the Celtics, as many believed they may be the new team to beat in the Eastern Conference, with the Miami Heat yet to acquire superstar guard Damian Lillard, as everyone expected.
Then the Milwaukee Bucks pulled off the blockbuster deal to bring in Lillard to pair with Giannis Antetokounmpo, which was a game-changer and instantly changed the outlook in the East.
The Celtics countered that move with the addition of defensive-minded guard Jrue Holiday, which was considered another game-changer for the team, making Boston arguably the team to beat once again.
During Media Day, Porzingis was all smiles when talking about joining the Celtics this summer, as he knows all too well that he’s finally got a chance to compete for a title, via the NBA’s Twitter account.
"I love the city and organization; everybody has welcomed me with open arms."

Clearly, Porzingis couldn’t be happier to be in a winning situation for the first time in his NBA career, as things never really got on the right track with the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, or Wizards.
The real question for Porzingis moving forward is whether he’ll be able to stay healthy and available for the Celtics moving forward, as he’s struggled with injury problems ever since bursting onto the scene with the Knicks.
