On Monday, the Colorado Rockies began a three-game series on the road against the Pittsburgh Pirates, who remain in first place in the NL Central but have been struggling as of late.
While Pittsburgh ultimately secured a 2-0 win thanks to Mitch Keller’s complete game, the night wasn’t devoid of highlights on the Rockies side.
Kris Bryant joined the Rockies before the 2022 season.
Last year, he spent much of the season on the injured list.
However, on Monday, he accomplished a truly remarkable feat.
In the top of the first inning, the veteran slugger got a base hit off of Keller and reached the 1,000-hit mark.
On Twitter, MLB on FOX posted a video of the moment Bryant accomplished this feat.

Bryant has been around for quite some time.
He won the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 2015 with the Chicago Cubs and earned an MVP Award the next year as he helped lead the Cubs to their first World Series title since 1908, effectively ending the “Curse of the Billy Goat.”
Bryant was traded to the San Francisco Giants in 2021 and joined the Rockies the following offseason.
The slugger has already hit five home runs this season and is hitting at a .306 clip after injuries limited him to just 42 games last season.
And on Monday, the four-time All-Star, former MVP, and 2016 World Series champion got the chance to experience a truly unforgettable moment at PNC Park.
It wasn’t enough for the Rockies to overcome Keller and his dominant outing, however.
