The New York Knicks had a terrific 2022-23 NBA season, where they reached the Eastern Conference semifinals for the first time since 2013.
Evidently, the fanbase expected the Knicks to dominate the 2023-24 NBA season from the very first game.
While the Knicks have shown signs of dominance here and there, they are still the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 6-5 record.
Keeping that in mind, it’s only natural for the Knicks to consider trading for a well-established star in the league.
With that being said, per Hardwood Paroxysm via NBACentral on Twitter, the Knicks are considering a trade for Karl-Anthony Towns.

This is not the first time that the Knicks have shown interest in the Minnesota Timberwolves star.
The former first-overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft is having a stunning season, averaging 21.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
It’s obvious that Towns has handed the keys of the franchise to Anthony Edwards, who has led the Timberwolves to an 8-3 start to the regular season.
While it is possible that Towns may want to become the primary star of a championship contender, it will certainly be expensive for the Knicks to acquire him via trade.
Moreover, with the Timberwolves sitting comfortably as the third seed in the Western Conference, it’s hard to see the franchise letting one of their best players to be traded away.
So, unless the relationship between Towns and the Timberwolves hits a rough patch, it’s hard to see the 28-year-old wearing a Knicks uniform anytime soon.
