The Golden State Warriors needed someone to step up with Stephen Curry on the shelf.
Now, it seems like Klay Thompson is finally back.
The fellow Splash Brother has been on a tear as of late, leading the Dubs to a five-game winning streak and torching the Atlanta Hawks for 54 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one block, and ten three-pointers:
“It’s a huge accomplishment for me,” Thompson said after the game. “There were some hard days for me when I didn’t know that this would be possible in real time. I am just going to embrace the heck out of it. (…) I have to remind myself daily that [playing for the Warriors] is literally the dream. What matters most is having fun and playing hard. All the numbers, all the big nights will come as long as I do those two things.”
Moreover, Thompson has now posted 10 30+ point games in the regular season since coming back from injury. He’s averaged 37.8 PPG on 54 FG%, 53 3P% and the Dubs are 9-1 in those matchups.

There’s no denying that Thompson’s impact on both ends of the floor is one of the biggest reasons why the Warriors have been such a dominant force over the past eight years or so.
He went through a couple of major injuries that could’ve ended multiple players’ careers, but his relentless work ethic and determination to be back to his best have led him to where he is nowadays.
Thompson will be a free agent at the end of the season and the Warriors will have some tough decisions to make, as multiple rivals will keep an eye on him if he keeps this pace up.
