The Philadelphia Eagles spared no expense to bolster their running back corps.
Shortly after watching D’Andre Swift walk away, they signed Saquon Barkley to a very lucrative deal.
Of course, signing an injury-prone and aging running back will come with great risks.
However, former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson believes this was an absolute slam dunk for Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni.
Talking on Undisputed, the former wide receiver stated that Barkley has never had a supporting cast as good and talented as this one, so even though he might be on the decline at this point in his career, he should still be very efficient in the City of Brotherly Love.
“This is the best offensive group he will have been with in his career,” Johnson said.

Barkley has been one of the best running backs in the game since entering the league as the No. 2 pick out of Penn State.
He’s a superstar when it comes to picking up yards on broken plays, and a perennial threat on the final twenty yards on the field.
The Eagles needed to make some big moves after the way their season ended, including a heartbreaking road loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round.
The team will also lack some veteran leadership, as Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox will no longer be in town after retiring this offseason.
So, it’ll be up to Barkley to prove that he’s still one of the best in business and that the New York Giants were wrong by not committing to him as their running back for the future.
