The Minnesota Vikings got dealt a very tough hand in their loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night.
Not only did the officials miss an obvious facemask call against the Rams that would’ve given the Vikings a chance to keep a possible game-tying drive going, but Minnesota also lost one of their best offensive linemen to a major injury.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, starting left tackle Christian Darrisaw will now require surgery for a season-ending knee injury.

All of a sudden, the once-unbeaten Vikings have lost back-to-back games in a span of five days.
Both of those losses were very close too, but that can be the difference in the NFL sometimes.
This latest close loss on the road comes at a price now as they lose arguably their most valuable offensive linemen.
The former first-round pick out of Virginia Tech in 2021 has started 46 of the 48 games that he has played in during his young career.
The Vikings agreed to terms with Darrisaw last offseason on a four-year extension worth $113 million.
Now, he will have to go have a successful surgery and prepare to rehab for 2024.
Depending on what happens around the NFL this weekend and over the next few weeks, the good news for the Vikings is that they will be facing multiple teams down the road that either have a record around or below .500.
Look for veteran offensive lineman David Quessenberry, who is 34 years of age and currently in his 12th NFL season, to take over for Darrisaw.
