After getting a first-round playoff bye thanks to their 15-2 regular-season record, the Kansas City Chiefs will begin what they hope is a sprint to their third straight Super Bowl championship this weekend when they meet the Houston Texans in the divisional round.
They aren’t 100 percent health-wise, but they’re close enough in order to have a real shot at another Vince Lombardi Trophy, even without emerging wide receiver Rashee Rice, who suffered a season-ending injury early in the schedule.
Everyone has had to pitch in a little more without Rice, including even wideout Mecole Hardman, who hasn’t played since Nov. 29 versus the Las Vegas Raiders.
He was limited in practice on Tuesday due to the knee injury that has kept him out of game action for the last several weeks.

Hardman started his NFL career in 2019 as a decent option for the Chiefs, not to mention a Pro Bowler, by catching 26 passes for 538 yards and six touchdowns while being used mostly as a kick returner.
That year, he returned 27 kickoffs for 704 yards, and he took one kickoff for a league-high 104 yards for a touchdown.
But since then, Hardman has been a bit player for a Chiefs team that has been building a dynasty.
He did, however, accomplish the dream of many American men by catching the winning touchdown pass in last season’s Super Bowl versus the San Francisco 49ers.
Despite their lack of blowout wins this season, Kansas City is still the favorite to reach the Super Bowl, if not win it all.
