The business side of Major League Baseball can make life challenging for its players at times during the offseason.
Free agents can be left hanging, not knowing if they will have a team to play for the next year, especially later in their careers.
This is the case for veteran outfielder Kevin Pillar, who has played 12 MLB seasons after debuting in 2013 with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Pillar spoke out about his future in baseball and whether or not he will be playing in 2025.
“I’ve just had some time to reflect, and I still enjoy doing it. I’m pretty sure I still want to play,” Pillar said, via MLB Network.

Pillar had some unfortunate luck in 2024 as he played for two of the worst teams in baseball.
After starting the season with the Chicago White Sox, who wound up losing 121 games, Pillar ended the year with the Los Angeles Angels, who lost 99 games.
Pillar had thumb surgery this offseason and mentions using the time to reflect after believing 2024 was going to be his last year before retirement.
Though Pillar said he still wants to play, it will depend on whether a team wants him, and he is not stressing out about it like he has in the past.
Pillar played in 100 games for the White Sox and Angels in 2024, batting .229 with eight home runs, 45 RBIs and a .667 OPS.
The outfielder will have to wait and see how the offseason plays out to find out if he will have a home in MLB next season.
