The Toronto Blue Jays are a team that has drawn a lot of attention from the media thanks to the outlook of their ballclub for 2023.
Their offense is stacked with stars such as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Bo Bichette, Matt Chapman, and George Springer.
But their starting pitching can’t be overlooked either.
With names such as Alek Manoah, Kevin Gausman, Chris Bassitt, and Jose Berrios in the mix, the team looks good and is prepared to be a powerhouse.
Gausman in particular is off to a hot start.
In his first two starts, he has not allowed an earned run over 12 innings of work, has allowed just 12 hits, and has struck out 14 batters.

Gausman was signed by the Blue Jays prior to the 2022 season and has been a good pickup for the team.
The 32-year-old won 12 games and posted a 3.35 ERA last season.
He is 1-1 in his two outings to start this season, but has still yet to allow an earned run.
Only three runs in total have been scored on his watch.
Those three runs came on April 1 against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Again, none of them were earned, so his ERA has not been affected.
But this is about as good as you can get to start a season.
The right-hander is pitching like an ace and has proven that he is a top-of-the-rotation arm.
Toronto’s pitching is solid and could be what carries them in 2023 as they look to unseat the New York Yankees at the top of the AL East.
