Kevin Garnett never held his tongue when he was in the NBA and speaks his mind even more in retirement.
He is now warning fans to stop sleeping on one NBA team he believes is due for a bounce-back year after its early playoff exit last season.
Speaking on “All The Smoke,” the Hall of Famer said he wants people to stop sleeping on the Phoenix Suns.
“Devin Booker can be an MVP, you know what I’m sayin’?” Garnett said, via NBACentral. “[Bradley] Beal, he can be an MVP. These guys, they got it, bro.”

Garnett also mentioned the fact that the Suns have two superstars who played for Team USA this summer and developed more of a rhythm, with Booker and Kevin Durant winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The former NBA champion also said it’s not a big deal that the Suns are an older team because he is a firm believer in Booker leading the charge.
The Suns won 49 games last season and earned the sixth seed in the Western Conference before they got swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
Phoenix didn’t do much to get better this offseason because it was hamstrung financially by having three superstars on the team, but Durant, Booker and Beal looked to be showing improved chemistry down the stretch, and the three of them together, along with a sneaky-good supporting cast, is enough to make the Suns a threat in the West this time around.
