Kevin Garnett made a lot of money during his time in the NBA.
But times have changed in the league since he retired and he’s not entirely happy about it.
On Friday afternoon, Garnett logged onto Twitter to question the amount of cash that stars are making.
“A lot of big salaries but where is the mid level bread?” Garnett asked.
“Is it max dollars or damn near minimum,” he added.

Garnett’s tweet may have been in response to Anthony Davis’ monster three-year, $186 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers.
That extension, which was announced on Friday, includes the richest annual extension in NBA history.
Garnett is right that many massive salaries have been announced lately and Davis’ extension is just the latest with eye-popping numbers.
Just a few weeks ago, Jaylen Brown received the biggest deal that the league had ever seen and that had many people wondering just how high these contracts will climb.
However, there have been plenty of mid-level extensions and contracts too.
Players such as Herb Jones, Gabe Vincent, Austin Reaves, Grant Williams, Dennis Schroder, and others have all signed contracts that aren’t nearly as large as Davis’.
Of course, those contracts don’t garner as many headlines because they aren’t as shocking and revolve around players who aren’t as well-known.
As time goes on, the amount of money that NBA stars are making is only going to go up.
In a few years, Davis’ huge extension will easily be eclipsed by countless others.
Garnett’s shock at the major salaries announced lately is fair but he needs to prepare for even more surprise in the years ahead.
