The Twitterverse was set ablaze this week after Mark Zuckerberg and company launched a new social media platform to combat Twitter, while the popular platform and arguably the fastest news source on the planet deals with a lot of issues, mainly stemming from his its new owner Elon Musk trying to figure out how to turn it into a cash cow.
The exodus to the Threads platform has begun, with a lot of dedicated Twitter users giving the new platform a try and letting it be known to the public that they’ll be putting it to use immediately.
Along with a lot of regular Twitter users jumping ship or at least giving the new social media tool a try, Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant is jumping on the trend.
At least, that’s what it seems like he’s doing, or he’s just trolling the fans with the following tweet from his Twitter account.
On threads with the burner. Come find me
— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) July 6, 2023
No superstar in the NBA is more engaged with his followers and trolls that come poking around his profile than Durant, as he has relentlessly gone at media and fans for their wild takes about him and other players.
It wasn’t all that long ago that Durant got exposed for having a burner account on Twitter, which is obviously what he’s alluding to in his tweet about Threads.
Although this is clearly a joke from the two-time NBA champion, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if he is actually telling the truth and has begun trolling fans on the new platform.
