The NBA world was rocked on Sunday when it was announced that Kyrie Irving was being traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks.
This completed the request that Irving had made days before and got him off yet another team that he no longer felt connected to.
It also marked the end of an era.

The Nets have undergone some major changes over the last year-and-a-half.
At this point last season, the team had Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden leading the way and there was great hope the Nets could go all the way in the playoffs.
Harden didn’t stick around much longer and went to the Philadelphia 76ers, leaving just Irving and Durant.
Now, Durant is the only one who remains and the team is officially solely his.
For years now, the Nets have been trying to break out of the East and the combination of Irving, Durant, and Harden was their best chance of doing that.
But injuries and a tough conference made that dream impossible.
So, where do things stand now for Durant and his squad?
Will he decide to stick around and let the franchise be built around him?
Or will he throw his hands up in the air and demand another trade, as he did last summer?
In less than a year, the Nets went from having one of the best big threes in the league to being a one-man show.
And that one man is still injured, by the way, meaning the Nets are currently in a lot of trouble.
The Nets have changed a lot lately and now the question is if they will change even more in the weeks and months ahead.
