Aaron Rodgers’ long-awaited debut with the New York Jets was cut short in the worst possible way.
Following an epic presentation with him running onto the field carrying the flag, Rodgers was only able to stay on the field for just four plays.
Rodgers was carted off the field and although X-rays were negative, he wasn’t able to come back and will undergo further testing soon.
Still, all signs point to it being an Achilles injury, which would obviously rule him out for the remainder of the season.
That’s why Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant took to Twitter to share his thoughts and express his wishes for Rodgers.
“I’m so sick right now. Get well soon 8…” Durant tweeted.

Notably, Rodgers and Durant had been spotted working out together this summer, so it’s safe to assume they’re friends or at least friendly acquaintances.
Whatever the case, Durant knows firsthand what it feels like to be out with such a major injury.
Rodgers is no young player, and an injury of this caliber could put his career in jeopardy.
Some thought he was going to play for just one or a maximum of two years with the Jets, and while he made it clear that he intended to be there for a long time, we’re talking about a 39-year-old potentially coming off one of the most brutal injuries in professional sports.
Needless to say, this was a major blow for a Jets team that was already thinking of a trip to the Super Bowl.
Now, they’ll likely have no choice but to turn to Zach Wilson again.
