The Houston Rockets were the lucky team that acquired Kevin Durant in the offseason, and signing him instantly raised the stakes and improved their chances.
Over the last few years, Durant has moved around the league, so some people wonder how long he will remain in Houston.
According to him, he would like to end his career with the Rockets.
Asked about retiring with Houston, Durant was honest about his intention.
“That’s the intent. I know, I said that about Phoenix, too, but that’s the intent. I would love to do that,” Durant said.

This is good news for Rockets fans, although they will believe it when they see it.
Like Durant said, he also had plans to retire with the Phoenix Suns, but things didn’t work out that way.
Instead, Durant’s two and a half seasons with the Suns were filled with disappointment, even though he averaged 26.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists during that time.
That Suns team just wasn’t a great fit, which led to Durant weighing his options and deciding to move in the summer.
He is now 37 years old, which means retirement is getting closer and closer.
Therefore, it stands to reason that the Rockets may be his last stop before he walks away from the NBA.
So, people are curious about what the team can achieve with Durant in the lineup.
Their goal is obviously winning a title, but Durant’s teams haven’t come close to that recently.
This Houston team looks more promising than both the Suns and the Brooklyn Nets before, but there is no guarantee that Durant will take them all the way.
If this first season in Houston isn’t a resounding success, speculation about where Durant will retire is sure to grow.
