The Arizona Diamondbacks are going to the World Series.
They left behind the Milwaukee Brewers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Philadelphia Phillies in order to reach the final series of the season.
If you are keeping score, that’s the NL Central champ, the NL West winner, and last year’s World Series runner-up.
One of the reasons they got to this point is because of Ketel Marte.
The talented infielder had a very solid regular season, one of the best years of his career.
He slashed .276/.358/.485 with 25 home runs, 82 RBI, 94 runs scored, and a .844 OPS.
To make a deep postseason run, Arizona needed Marte to be even better in the postseason.
Fortunately for them, he has delivered: with a .358/.382/.604 line, two homers, two steals, and a .986 OPS, he has been the D-Backs’ best hitter in the 2023 playoffs.
Not only that, but he has also been able to contribute at least a hit in every game.
If we add up his previous four postseason games in 2017, he has a nice 16-game hitting streak going.
“Ketel Marte has a 16-game hitting streak, tied for the 4th-longest in postseason history, behind only: 2003-04 Manny Ramírez: 17; 1998-99 Derek Jeter: 17; 1956-58 Hank Bauer: 17,” MLB stats expert Sarah Langs tweeted.

On Tuesday, in Game 7 of the NL Championship Series against the Phillies, Marte struck out four times.
Nevertheless, he was able to extend his hitting streak.
He always finds a way to help Arizona’s young squad, and that makes him really valuable.
Marte will be, without a doubt, one of the X-factors in the World Series.
