Kenny Pickett’s strong preseason made him a legitimate candidate for the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ starting quarterback role.
Against the Seattle Seahawks, he had 13 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner to Tyler Vaughns.
Then, he followed it up with six passes for 76 yards and a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Finally, he ended the preseason with 15 throws for 160 yards and a touchdown against the Detroit Lions.
The Steelers won all three games.
More importantly, he has helped football fans forget about his palm size.
It also helps that he’s playing for the same fans that cheered for him when he was still with the University of Pittsburgh Panthers.
With two of their three preseason games being played at Acrisure Stadium, Pickett felt at home.
Speaking of home, he went back to Acrisure to show support to his alma mater.
They also had some bragging rights by unveiling their conference championship banner.

Blitz Videos tweeted, “Pickett dropping the banner! Don’t think this will be his only one! #Steelers #NFL.”
Only time can tell if he will also drop a Super Bowl banner for the Steelers.
But if his last year at Pitt is any indication, the Steelers are in for a great ride.
Pickett Knows How To Win
Last year’s Panthers finished with an 11-3 record, including a 7-1 mark versus ACC teams.
They went on to defeat ranked opponents like Clemson and Wake Forest.
Pickett and the Panthers were ranked as high as number 12 in the nation but fell to 13 at season’s end.
