Kenley Jansen came through in the clutch last night for the Boston Red Sox, closing out his former team in the Atlanta Braves to earn his 400th career save.
Boston won by a final score of 5-2.
However, Jansen was the top storyline from the game, as he delivered a key save for the Red Sox to stop a two-game losing streak.
After the game, Jansen celebrated with his Red Sox teammates, basking in the glory of the moment.
However, the veteran right-hander isn’t satisfied by just reaching the 400-save mark, and he expressed his desire to accomplish more as the season goes on.
The save was Jansen’s ninth of the season.
The 35-year-old recorded 41 saves in 48 tries last season with the Braves.
Last night may have been the biggest save of his career, but he made sure to express his desire to record more saves and continue his dominant stretch, as shared by the Red Sox.

Jansen reached the Major Leagues in 2010 with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
There, he was a three-time All-Star and two-time Reliever of the Year.
He also earned All-MLB Second Team honors in 2021 and was part of the Dodgers World Series championship team the year before.
Needless to say, Jansen has accomplished a lot.
But the veteran closer is still motivated to chase more milestones and continue his impressive run as the season rolls on.
Jansen lowered his ERA to 0.77 with last night’s save and helped the Red Sox improve to 22-16 on the year.
The right-hander enjoyed his moment after last night’s game, but is ready for more.
