The signing of Kenley Jansen was one of a few key moves made over the winter by the Boston Red Sox.
Jansen gave them an established closer who has a long track record of success.
In his first year with the Red Sox, Jansen has performed quite well as of late.
The 35-year-old has appeared in eight games with the Red Sox this season and has not allowed an earned run.
He is 1-0 and has saved six games with his new team.
The veteran closer is also approaching a historic mark.
After eight straight scoreless appearances, the right-hander is just three saves shy of 400 for his career.

Jansen reached the Major Leagues back in 2010 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team with which he has spent the vast majority of his career.
There, he established himself as a dominant closer and one of the best the game had to offer.
The veteran right-hander has dealt with his fair share of injuries and other struggles, but has always been a strong presence at the back end of any bullpen.
He spent the 2022 season with the Atlanta Braves and saved 41 games in 48 tries.
Atlanta did not bring the veteran closer back, instead opting to use Raisel Iglesias as their closer.
However, Boston swooped in and signed the right-hander.
So far, the move has paid off for the Red Sox.
Jansen has already saved six games and is three saves shy of an impressive mark.
It won’t be long before the right-hander achieves this special feat and writes his name in the history books.
