The Minnesota Timberwolves have finally found Kevin Garnett’s heir.
They have had some talented players over the years, but neither of them took a leap forward as a superstar, let alone put the team on his shoulders to be their leader.
Anthony Edwards is that guy.
Not only is he a special talent on offense, but he’s also made great strides on defense and has taken plenty of pride in becoming a lockdown defender on that side of the ball as well.
And more than that, he’s shown a level of hunger and competitiveness that one doesn’t see often among players today, which is why he’s become such a big favorite among current and former players.
With that in mind, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter to hilariously explain what he’s doing.
Anthony Edwards ain’t asking or waiting for the torch to be passed. He walked into Kevin Durant’s house, snatch that mf off the table and walked out the front door.

Per Perkins, Edwards entered Kevin Durant’s home and took the torch right from his hands without asking or even waiting for it to be passed.
That pretty much sums it up.
Edwards has been on record praising Durant and calling him his favorite player multiple times, but he’s not fazed or starstruck by him at all.
If anything, that has added even more fuel to his fire, and he’s making the most of the opportunity to prove himself to the world in front of his idol.
Edwards has established himself as the best shooting guard in the game, and if he keeps this up, he’s going to be the best player overall sooner rather than later.
