There is a chance that the New Orleans Pelicans will cut ties with Zion Williamson in the days ahead.
Speculation suggests that the team could possibly trade away Williamson for a higher pick in next week’s draft.
We don’t know if that will happen yet but Kendrick Perkins believes it should.
Speaking on First Take, he listed the reasons why the Pelicans should end the Williamson era in New Orleans.
“The reason that the Pelicans are trying to move on from him is because of food and his off-the-court issues,” Perkins said.
“I know he’s a generational talent. But he’s a generational talent that we can’t trust,” he added.

Williamson’s health has been a major detriment to the Pelicans over the last few years.
When he was drafted as the first overall pick, Williamson looked like the big, burly, intimidating future of the franchise.
But he cannot seem to stay healthy, for a variety of reasons.
While some of the physical problems he has experienced are due to bad luck and the strenuous demands of the game, others are possibly caused by him not taking care of himself.
Perkins mentioned the numerous social media reports and stories that featured Williamson looking out of shape and unhealthy.
All of this adds up to him not being able to last an entire season.
The Pelicans are surely considering all of this as the clock winds down and the draft approaches.
They need a superstar they can rely on and, frankly, that hasn’t been Williamson.
Will this lead to them making a massive, franchise-changing decision?
Or will they continue to hope that Williamson can stay healthy and give them at least one full season?
