Joel Embiid recently put Philadelphia 76ers fans on notice with his latest comments.
The reigning MVP claimed that he’s desperate to win an NBA championship, whether it’s with his current team or somewhere else.
Embiid later claimed that he was just trolling and joking around, but former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins believes there’s no way the Sixers organization should take those comments lightly.
Perkins claimed that sometimes the truth lies within jokes, and it would only be normal for Embiid to be sick and tired of the never-ending drama and shortcomings of the organization, via First Take.

He was surrounded by the Ben Simmons drama and then the James Harden situation (twice), and at some point, even a guy like him could get tired, claims Perkins.
Perk said that Embiid is clearly sending them a message about getting their act together and putting adequate pieces around him, even if he claims he was joking.
Truth be told, it’s hard to believe that Embiid didn’t know what he was doing when he made those comments, as he’s a very intelligent person who knows what it takes to control the news cycle.
Chances are he’s just trying to make a power move and get some leverage over the Sixers, letting them know that the clock is ticking and he won’t just sit around waiting for them to get him what he needs.
It may not happen today, tomorrow, or even this season, but Embiid’s patience could run out, and that’s the last thing they should want right now.
