It’s obviously way too early to make serious predictions about who will win the NBA Finals this year but some analysts are offering their opinions about who may be in the running.
On Tuesday’s “First Take”, Kendrick Perkins revealed his “dark hose” to claim a title: the Phoenix Suns.
“They check all boxes. They upgraded at the point guard position…the big man position…Bradley Beal looks 100% healthy…we saw what Devin Booker did last night,” Perkins said about Phoenix’s improvements.
“The most important piece is Kevin Durant,” Perkins added, saying how Durant played sensationally last season even though he was disgruntled with his coach.
If he played that well while unhappy, what can Durant do for a coach he actually likes?

The Suns scored a dominant win on Monday night, beating the strong Los Angeles Lakers 109-105.
Booker, Durant, and Beal all looked great as did others like Royce O’Neale and rookie Ryan Dunn.
Perkins listed several reasons why the Suns could go all the way but that doesn’t guarantee success for the entire season.
While they have incredible talent, the Suns also unfortunately have bad luck when it comes to injuries.
That means they could lose some of their best players to physical problems at points this season and that could compromise everything.
Additionally, the Western Conference has gotten increasingly harder and they will create a ton of challenges for the Suns.
Perkins believes the Suns could be a team that stays consistent all year and travels far in the playoffs.
They have the skills, but will they have good luck with injuries?
